Separation of advertising and editorial

Advertising helps fund our work, but it never influences what we write. Advertisers cannot review, approve or change editorial content, and editorial staff do not write advertising.

How ads are labeled

Any advertising or sponsored content is clearly labeled as “Advertisement” or “Sponsored” and visually distinguished from editorial content.

What we don’t accept

We do not accept advertising that:

• Makes unsupported health claims or promises cures
• Uses fear, shame or stigma
• Promotes unproven or unsafe treatments
• Targets people in crisis
• Is designed to look like editorial content without clear labeling

Sensitive pages

We may limit or exclude advertising on pages about crisis support, suicide, self-harm and other highly sensitive topics.
