Our commitment

We work hard to be accurate, but mistakes can happen. When they do, we fix them promptly and transparently.

How to report an error

Use the Report an error link at the end of any article, or contact us. Please include the page address and a description of the issue, with a source if possible.

What happens next

1. An editor reviews your report, usually within a few business days.
2. If a correction is needed, we update the page. Clinical corrections are checked by a medical reviewer.
3. For significant corrections — those that change the meaning of information — we add a note to the page describing what changed and when.

Minor edits, such as typos or formatting, are corrected without a note.

Updates vs. corrections

Updating a page with new evidence isn’t a correction. Updates are reflected in the “Last updated” date.
